Fucata Pearl Studio is an independent art studio led by visual artist Avery Pearl,
dedicated to creating collectible works that examine the duality of identity —
the visible exoskeleton and the inner self we quietly carry.
This digital platform presents exclusively physical, handcrafted pieces.
Large-scale prints are produced using meticulous charcoal and chalk pastel techniques
on paper, resulting in works defined by both delicacy and depth.
The Wrap Room introduces a wearable extension of the studio’s practice,
featuring limited, one-of-a-kind garments
that are hand-constructed and painted on reclaimed natural textiles.
Each piece is created with intention,
offering collectors and viewers an intimate connection to art
that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant
About the Art
The collections circumvent a philosophy of human living that has been twisted and redefined as society evolves. I have developed an infatuation with how external objects- social media, post-capitalism, technology, and societal pressures- impact the internal person. I seek to illuminate the grey line between who we are and who we want to be, who we present as. The definition of identity is becoming more abstract and less tied to our birthplace- the earth, the sky, the dirt, the cold ground, the warm wind, the eyes and bones of other animals. At one point, this defined the human identity. But it seems no one identifies through this, or even feels that they are a part of this natural world. Instead, we adhere our identity to the status we desire and the means by which we reach this, whether it be the technology we use, the products we consume, or simply the way we dress. This process has sped up at a rapid and incomprehensible rate, to which the human soul is left floating somewhere in an abyss while our bodies seek more consumption.
